What is your full name and what would you prefer to be called?

Paulina M. Gonzalez-Nossa and my friends and family call me Pau.

Tell us a little bit of how you would define yourself

Greetings! I’m a Colombian woman who has been happily married to my wonderful husband for 28 years. Family holds the key to my heart, and I cherish my three children and two grandchildren dearly. My journey brought me to the United States 33 years ago, a decision that came with its own set of challenges, especially leaving my family behind. However, the creation of my own family here has been a source of immense joy and fulfillment. Professionally, I am the proud owner and founder of Memento Picnics and Events, a venture born out of my passion for event planning and decor. Making people happy through my work is not just a profession; it’s a calling. I find immense joy in curating memorable experiences for others, ensuring their special moments are filled with joy and beauty. While the transition from Colombia to the United States presented its own set of hurdles, I’ve discovered my true calling in creating happiness for others through my event planning business. My family remains at the center of my universe, and every day brings new opportunities to blend the love and cultural richness of my Colombian roots with the experiences and adventures of life in the U.S.

What’s a big moment in your personal life that helped define the woman you are today?

The defining moment in my life that greatly shaped the woman I am today occurred on the day I was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease. Instead of allowing this challenging news to deter me, it became a powerful source of inspiration, propelling me to strive for greatness in the face of adversity. The diagnosis brought with it a flood of emotions and uncertainties, but rather than succumbing to despair, I chose to view it as a catalyst for personal growth and resilience. This pivotal moment ignited a fire within me, urging me to defy the limitations imposed by the condition and strive for greatness in every aspect of my life. The journey with Parkinson’s has not been easy, and there have been countless obstacles to overcome. However, facing the daily challenges head-on has instilled in me a profound sense of determination and perseverance. I have become more resilient, learning to adapt to the unpredictable nature of the condition with grace and courage. Embracing this experience has allowed me to discover strengths and capabilities I never knew I possessed. It has inspired me to be an advocate for myself and others living with Parkinson’s, fostering a sense of community and understanding. Through my journey, I have found purpose in raising awareness and promoting research for a cure, contributing to a cause greater than myself. In the face of adversity, I have emerged not as a victim of Parkinson’s but as a woman who refuses to be defined by it. This significant moment has become the cornerstone of my identity, propelling me to pursue greatness, live with purpose, and inspire others to do the same.

Mother Teresa of Calcutta: "Not all of us can do great things. But we can do small things with great love."

What has been the hardest lesson you have had to learn in your career?

In the journey of life, I’ve learned a profound lesson that has shaped my perspective and approach to various aspects of my endeavors. It is the realization that, despite my genuine desire to bring happiness to others, I cannot please everyone. I’ve come to understand that my role is more about planting seeds and making meaningful contributions rather than achieving universal satisfaction. Like a gardener tends to a garden, I aim to nurture positive changes and make a lasting impact. Recognizing the impossibility of pleasing everyone has freed me from the burden of constant frustration. I’ve learned that my responsibility lies in the effort I put into cultivating positive outcomes, and while I may not make everyone happy, I can still make a valuable contribution in my own way. This lesson has provided me with a sense of peace and purpose, allowing me to focus on the journey of growth and progress rather than the unattainable goal of pleasing all.

Who do you feel like has been the most influential woman in your life?

The most influential woman in my life is undoubtedly my mom. She embodied the essence of an independent, caring, loving, faithful, and devoted individual. Her selflessness and unwavering commitment shaped me into the person I am today. Although my mother passed away some time ago, I continue to miss her dearly. Grieving her loss has been a challenging journey, and I find solace in the cherished memories we shared and the positive impact she had on my life. Witnessing her resilience and strength in the face of adversity was a constant source of inspiration. Even though she is no longer physically present, her values and virtues continue to guide me. Reflecting on the enduring influence she had, I am grateful for the profound impact she had on shaping the person I am today. I strive to honor her memory by living a life that reflects the love and values she imparted to me.

These beautiful designs inspired by the Self -Love of our amiga Paulina were handmade by three Colombian artisans from Barraquilla, Colombia. They had the connection with Paulina’s story to create these pieces that want to bring Self love awareness when you wear them. The jewelry collection is made embroidering delicate miyuki glasses  carefully with love and dedication.

What do you like the most about LAURANNA , as a brand?

I admire Lauranna as a brand for several reasons, with one of the foremost being its origin in my native country, Colombia. The fact that Lauranna’s products are crafted by Colombian artisans adds a layer of cultural authenticity and heritage to their creations. The dedication and skill of these artisans shine through in every piece, reflecting the rich traditions and craftsmanship of our diverse nation. The uniqueness and beauty of Lauranna’s jewelry and bandannas are a testament to the artistic prowess and creativity of these individuals. Each item becomes a small but striking display of the intricate and thoughtful work that goes into creating something truly special with their hands. Supporting Lauranna not only means embracing Colombian craftsmanship but also celebrating the vibrancy and talent embedded in our local artisans’ creations.

What are some of your favorite pieces of LAURANNA?

My favorite Lauranna pieces are undoubtedly the bandannas, the hats, and the jewelry. These accessories effortlessly elevate my style, making me feel like a goddess whether I’m attending special occasions or simply going about my daily routine. The bandannas add a touch of flair to my outfits, while the hats exude a sense of sophistication. The jewelry, with its unique designs, becomes the perfect finishing touch, accentuating my confidence and individuality. Whether I’m dressing up for a glamorous event or incorporating these pieces into my everyday attire, Lauranna’s creations have become essential elements of my personal style, turning any moment into a chance to express my inner goddess.

Why Paulina is an Amiga in our blog?

Paulina has been one of the most loyal amigas of Lauranna since we openen our first store location at Market Town back in 2022. Her genuine desire for supporting our artisans has led her to become an active ambassador of our brand; she wears our pieces as a symbol of  self love because as Paulina says,  she feels empowered  and they make her feel a Goddess that she truly is.   With the Jewelery Collection Me Amo – I love ME , we want to honor her Self-Love . Her story of overcoming through Self love is so powerful because that is what it keeps her being the woman , the mom, the wife, the grandma , the entrepreneur that she is every day in her life. We chose her favorite color pink for the jewelry and the softness of her personality that she combines with a beautiful chic – glamourous fashion style.

Discipline is key; cultivate a strong work ethic to navigate challenges and stay focused on your aspirations. Surround yourself with positive influences, people who uplift and bring out the best in you. Seek mentors who can provide guidance and insights based on their experiences. I finished my residency on Pediatric Dentist at UPR recinto de Cs Medicas , after a while my second son born , we decided as a family stay there for good . I was a full student, then full mom for a couple of years , spending time with youngest son, which presented delay speech , motor and after while diagnosed with epilepsy. Finally when things were settle with my son , we had to make a tough decision to leave our lovely island . we moved to Maryland and I had the opportunity to work on my career for about 10 years , at the University of Maryland , as a faculty for the residency and doing oral health education and prevention on rural areas in Maryland , Baltimore and Southern part of the state . It was pretty rewarding as a bilingual pediatric dentist served our hispanic community .

On 2015 we had no other choice to move to Texas ,Currently I am yoga Instructor 500 hrs , plus Yoga Wall Rope , Barre/pilates and PNL practicioner coach . Former coach of the Team Reseteate , to provide support coach to new students . Recently wrote my first book along with 24 coauthors Eligete a TI.

What’s a big moment in your personal life that helped define the woman you are today?

I had many to be sincere , but one of the hardest was to face and received the news of fathers passed away , only by myself when I had to live alone for a couple of months until my family will arrived by the end of the school year . It was the longest night of my life . I had to faced and choose to live or resit and die . I was suffering’s from depression , panic attack and anxiety, but once I thought to jump and finish my life . But for the grace of God and Holy Spirit a stronger voice called me back to take action . Also being immigrant and mom of a child with disabilities , had got me persistent and self knowledge, to keep going no matter what . As a mom, I wanted to be the best , prepared to give to my family a purpose of values that keep us strong even on all the changes that life brought to us .
Facing my son at 16 years old having his first seizure , and see us as family how we handled it , showed me the love and mercy of God upon us .
My own struggles and fears , had define me who I am now . I choose to take action , either through medication , therapy , pnl , yoga . I’ve learned that taking care of my mental physical and emotional health , would allow me to provide a better way to help myself , son and family . if it wasn’t for all that I wouldn’t be the woman I am today .

"Breath , listen to your body and to your heart".- Susan

What has been the hardest lesson you have had to learn in your career?

The hardest lesson was to show and probe  that our hispanic community , and myself are well trained , prepared and have the principles and the knowledge, that we came to this country to do it better ! also I must say , in the beginning being a woman , show as latina , balancing my life as professional , wife was hard . be aware the fine line between giving saying yes to all the challenges of work , and complete ignored my Body signs of stress and tired .
Also as a inmigrant wanted to prove them , I can do and work whatever you need me , to show my loyalty and commitment.
I think as woman we are now opened more about the range of competition and performance compared with male colleagues . I am saying this from a filled cup , but it was hard be at work and run when my son needed me . I will always be thankful for my husband whom took over that role without any conflicts , or even care what people think .
I remember missed so many games and kids parents activities because of my job position as a Director of the Health Center .
Looking back it has to be that way , so today I appreciate more every single second around my kids and family .

Who do you feel like has been the most influential woman in your life?

I must say life has brought me to many women as mirror to be influenced , I can mentionned my grandma , born in Japan ,move to China . My mother who taught me to be better and never give up , my aunts whom traveled during World War II . Specially my godmother Susy My friends from elementary school with I grew up , in my little town Valencia , they became sisters .
I can also honor all the women and friends that during my career , and after transition to yoga and PNL had become inspirational , specially when we share same values .
All my yogi students , and every yoga teacher has been essenctial part for my growth.

What do you like the most about LAURANNA , as a brand?

The vision and purpose , align to serve and give to the community . It connects me with my latin roots and heritage . Its rewarding in joy , see small business women work hard together to shine all Colombians , not just one person its about togetherness . What advice do you have for young women starting their careers/ businesses?

Don’t get frustrated by comparing your job performance with others , Stop their internal dialogue , that says : ” I am not Enough ” , my English ” is not good ” . my body is not nice , anything that you do , by comparing with others by competition will steal your joy . You do You , be you ! be authentic, don’t try to be like you are not .
My best advice is discover yourself , be unapogelletic you , when you try to copy someone else , it won’t last ..I encourage to look for leaders , people that inspire , motive you , not to be the same . Prepare , study , surrrouend with people who lift you and its taking you for a long term version of who you are .
Also don’t care about stereotypes or ” must or Have to ” , choose , write down your plan of action and do it . Believe in yourself . If it  scares you do it anyway.  It is all a learning process  we all are in.

What is your full name and what would you prefer to be called?

María Isabel Quintero, you can call me Isa.

Tell us a little bit of how you would define yourself

I am a woman, wife, and mother to Simón, Andrea, and Diego. I am Venezuelan and have been living in Houston, Texas since 2007. In 2020, I became certified as a PNL Practitioner Coach, in 2021 as a Rebirthing Breathwork practitioner, and in 2022 as a Systemic Family and Organizational Psychotherapist (Family Constellations – Bert Hellinger).

Currently, I am part of the RESETEATE team, where I serve as a Support Coach in the program created by Elina Rees. I am also a co-author of the book ‘Elígete a ti,’ where I have shared my story to inspire others.

Additionally, my husband and I lead El Kourmet, a Venezuelan restaurant in Katy, Texas.

I love music, traveling, yoga, being in nature, and having conversations with friends.

What’s a big moment in your personal life that helped define the woman you are today?

The day I looked at myself in the mirror and said, ‘enough,’ how long are you going to be sad? Facing myself wasn’t easy, but it’s the best thing that has happened to me in life. Since that day, I began to take action and started this magical journey of ‘Coming Home,’ delving into my inner world and thus beginning the restoration of my being. I continue to work daily, consciously, to keep transforming myself and thus be able to flourish every day.

"VIDA: Virtud Ilimitada De Amar, LIFE, the unlimited virtue of love. "The virtues of love include fidelity, generosity, compassion, gratitude, humility, simplicity, tolerance, gentleness, and good faith.".- Maria Isabel

What has been the hardest lesson you have had to learn in your career?

Understanding that only I had and continue to have the power to achieve my dreams and goals. I am responsible for seeing all the possibilities and opportunities that arise in life to TAKE ACTION and move towards the goal. The people and resources that accompany me or appear in my path are important, but if I don’t take action, there are no results.

Who do you feel has been the most influential woman in your life?

Every woman who has appeared in my life has become a mirror for me, offering me a lesson or leaving me with a powerful question that has led me to learn through reflection and transformation. Among them, I can mention my mother, who instilled in me respect, good manners, and the importance of presence, as there is never a second opportunity to make a first impression. I also remember my aunt, whose departure from this world awakened me and reminds me daily that ‘Life is Today.‘” “La Vida es Hoy”.

How do you balance work and family life?

I have found balance by taking care of myself and choosing myself as a human being, as a BEING. Both my family and my profession are important to me; both demand time, attention, love, and much more. That’s why I practice self-care, take time for myself, and engage in activities I enjoy. In this way, I recharge my energy. Other tips that have helped me maintain balance between family and work are: saying goodbye to guilt, setting priorities, being flexible, establishing boundaries, and learning to say no with love.

What advice do you have for young women starting their careers/ businesses?

Some people may make you feel very small when you start working on the construction of your dreams, whether it’s to establish your business or your career. My advice is to believe in yourself and trust in all the possibilities you have. Fall in love with your dreams, your venture, and the people who are part of this new project, as well as those who accompany you on this journey. I applaud your initiative and congratulate you for taking action and starting this path to make your dreams come true.

What do you love most about your work?

What I like most about my job is being able to walk hand in hand with my life purpose, which is to serve and help others heal and grow. To be support and help them discover their true value, both in my roles as a coach, constellator, rebirther, and general manager of El Kourmet.

What do you like the most about LAURANNA , as a brand?

Lauranna is more than an accessory; it’s a talisman of power that helps me convey part of my story, my essence, and what I wish to project. Another reason I love Lauranna is that behind each of its pieces, there’s a great woman realizing her dreams and showcasing her creativity through her hands and heart. Knowing that I’m supporting other Latina women to achieve their dreams and grow fills me with joy. Lauranna, you are a magical showcase of talented women. I feel very honored to be part of the collection “I am” with the design “I am freedom” because butterflies represent transformation, respect for nature, and the enjoyment of processes in my life. And we must remember that no matter what happens, if your garden is destroyed or withers, you can always make it bloom again.

What are some of your favorite pieces of LAURANNA?

I love everything, and what I adore about Lauranna is that I can wear it on different occasions, from a formal suit to jeans and sneakers, and it always adds a special touch to my outfit. If I had to choose one thing, it would be the earrings. Lauranna’s earrings have become an anchor for me, giving me the opportunity to express my style and personality.

My name is Marycar, and I like to be called Mary.

Tell us a little bit of how you would define yourself

I am a slightly shy person, although it may not seem like it. I love photography and being with my family. I love small details. For more than 10 years I have been professionally dedicated to photography, and although it all started as a hobby, now it is an important part of my life. I have met many beautiful families, and thanks to this I have made great friends.

What’s a big moment in your personal life that helped define the woman you are today?

Mainly the arrival of my children, forming two wonderful little people within me made me feel that I should love myself more, I had gestational diabetes and I took great care of myself so that all of us were healthy and ready to live together happily. Another moment that had an impact on my life was my diagnosis of breast cancer. No one is prepared to receive news like that, especially someone with two small children. Just as I felt vulnerable and broken at first, I am now full of faith and the motivation to move forward for them. Thank God I am clean and healthy, but above all grateful and eager to help everyone that needs me.
